The Beijing Botanical Garden(Chinese: 北京植物园) is a large 400 Hectare park close to XiangShan Park at the foot of the Western Fragrant Hills. The Botanical Garden contains WoFoSi (Sleeping Buddha) temple and hotel in the north. Beijing Botanical Garden was established in 1955.

Beijing Botanical Garden cultivate 6,000 species of plant, including 2,000 kinds of trees and bushes, 1,620 varieties of tropical and subtropical plants, 500 species of flowers and 1,900 kinds of fruit trees, water plants, traditional Chinese.

The Beijing Botanical Gardens present magical, peaceful surroundings just 15 km from central Beijing. There are many features, including a lake, the Perennial Garden, Peony Garden, Ornamental Peach Garden, a magnificent 10,000 square metre Conservatory housing Rain Forest House, Orchid House, Desert Garden House, Exhibition Flower House and numerous other gardens featuring camellias, bamboo, tree peonies, ornamental cherries and many others.

Beijing Botanical Garden also contains a Sunken Rose Garden, 90 metres across, surrounded by thousands of roses in four tiers, descending to a magnificent floodlit musical fountain at the center.

There is also a memorial garden for Cao Xue Qin, famous for writing the literary classic 'Story of the Stone'.

WoFoSi (Sleeping Buddha) Temple is located at the north of the park (north of the conservatory). It dates back to the Tang Dynasty.

After visiting WoFoSi Temple, turn right (west) on exit and head west then north to pass a delightful tea house. From there head north west to visit a waterfall and then take a long boardwalk south back into the main garden area.

The WoFoSi Hotel is a great place to stay for a day. It is adjacent to the WoFoSi Temple and you wake up in a beautiful park. The hotel's rooms are traditional courtyard style - renovations of original buildings. The hotel also has a large restaurant and a swimming pool.
